Walk to the Edge Cafe
TUESDAY 7TH MAY START AT 10AM FROM THE MARQUEE IN FULBOURN MANOR GARDEN

The walk was guided by members of Fulbourn Forum and the Village History Society. It took in the history and more recent growth of the village – through the High Street, past the Pump House and into Capital Park – before reaching the Edge Cafe. Distance 1.8 miles (x 2), taken at a leisurely pace.

Guided Wildlife Observation & Drawing Walk
WEDNESDAY 8TH MAY START AT 10AM FROM THE MARQUEE IN FULBOURN MANOR GARDEN

Attendees were taken on a guided walk through Fulbourn Fen, sketching selected objects whilst observing the Fen’s key natural features.
Starting at the marquee in Fulbourn Manor garden the walk was guided by Mark Ricketts from the Wildlife Trust. He led the group to Fulbourn Fen where he pointed out key characteristics of the Fen and the adjacent woodland. Deanna Tyson accompanied the walk to provide advice on how to rapidly sketch and capture nature on paper.

Swifts project at Berwick Bridge School – 25th to 29th March
As part of Bewick Bridge School’s STEAM week (Science Technology Engineering Art and Maths), John Willis, leader of the Fulbourn Swifts Group, will be presenting an illustrated talk about the migration of swifts from Africa to UK in time for nesting. Inspired by the presentation and encouraged by teachers, pupils will be asked to respond creatively to the theme of migration. The resulting work will be presented firstly at the school and then in the marquee.
